My Friend!

When you are sad...
I will jump on the person
Who made you sad
Like a Spider Monkey
Jacked up on Mt. Dew!

When you are blue...
I will try to dislodge
Whatever is choking you!

When you smile...
I will know you are
Plotting something
That I must be invovled in!

When you are scared...
We will high tail it
Out of here!

When you are worried...
I will tell you horrible Stories
About how much worse it could be
Until you quit whinning ya big baby!

When you are confused...
I will use little words.

When you are sick...
Stay away from me
Until you are well again,
I don't want what you have!

When you fall...
I'll pick you up
And dust you off
After I laugh my rear off!

This is my oath...
I pledge it to the end.

Why? You may ask...
Because you are my FRIEND!

As it turns out...

Apparently as it turns out... I can be unduely harsh at times.

No really... ME! Can you believe that?

A friend (who shall remain nameless) recently told me that I was being harsh and that he/she did not deserve that.

Now the way I see it is just because someone else chooses to be blind to the situation at hand and I choose to be open-minded and see things for what they are AND THEN choose to verbally call it like I see it does not mean that I am being mean or insensitive, it just means that I am aware of what is going on and see no reason it dancing around the facts.

Don't get me wrong, we all have our moments where we say or do something that isn't very nice or inadvertently hurts someone's feelings and although we should pay attention and try not to do these things unfortunately they do still happen. But in this peticular incident it is just not the case.

Anyone who knows me and especially those who know me well should know that I pride myself on having the ability to view things as they are and not how we want them to be.

There is a difference between sarcasm, honestly, brutal honesty and just plain being hateful.

Yes... I can be sarcastic (it's the body's natural defense to stupidity.)

Yes... I can be honest (a practice we should all exercise.)

Yes... I can be brutally honest (sometimes it is necessary.)

Yes... I can be hateful (I try not to do this too often & when I do I usually end up apologizing later.)

But what it comes down to is that those who can truely call me their friend should absolutely know the difference in these things when it comes to me.
